ITINERARY

Day 01 Saturday, September 30
Depart USA city to Venice, Italy

Day 02 Sunday, October 1
Morning arrival in Venice Marco Polo airport. Meet your tour manager and transfer to Venice bus parking lot at Tronchetto. Here your luggage is loaded on small boats delivered directly to your hotel. Group will continue by private boat via the Giudecca canal to St.Marks Square and our hotel. Enjoy a guided walking tour including the splendid Basilica, St. Mark 's Square, the Bridge of Sighs and view the Grand Canal filled with gondolas, motorboats, and peppermint stick moorings.
Welcome dinner with wine at ristorante II Trovatore. (D)

Day 03 Monday, October 02
The entire day in Venice! Your tour escort will advise you of the many possibilities to do in this beautiful town! The first thing to do in the morning is a visit to St. Mark's Basilica, following a guided tour of Doge's Palace with Bridge of Sighs. After lunch (on your own) you might enjoy a trip to the glasswork's islands of Burano and Murano, pay a visit to "Harry's Bar" or visit one of the many exhibitions or museums. Enjoy fashionable shopping or take a gondola ride through the small channels. Dinner tonight at ristorante Cantina Canaletto. (BD)

Day 04 Tuesday, October 03
Depart by private boat to bus parking area, - a drive of approximately 1 hour will lead you to the city of Padova - guided walking tour -with visit of the Basilica of St. Anthony. Lunch break (on your own) - then continue the freeway south by way of Ferrara and Bolgna - crossing the Appenine mountains - entering Tuscany! The next 2 nights you will stay at the spa resort Montecatini Terme.
Dinner tonight at your hotel. (BD)

Day 05 Wednesday October 04
Morning departure for a guided tour of the city of Lucca - one of the Italian's "Citta d'arte" (Art towns) with a very well preserved historic center and enormous city walls. Afternoon visit to the winery "Fattoria iiPoggio" in Montecarlo  www.fattoriailpoggio.net -enjoy wine tasting and light Tuscany lunch. Return afternoon to hotel. Dinner on your own. (BL)

Day 06 Thursday October 05
Early morning departure to Florence - the "Cradle of the Renaissance." Your guided city tour (includes entrance to the Academia featuring Michelangelo's original David), the Cathedral with its immense cupola by Brunelleshi, the Bell Tower by Giotto, the "Door of Paradise" by Ghiberti, and other historical masterpieces. Time to visit the jewelry shops and leather workshops on the Ponte Vecchio for some serious shopping. After lunch break (on your own) continue to the eternal city of Rome. This marble city was created by Augustus and, according to legend, was founded by Romulus in 753 B.C.  Many consider it the cradle of Western Civilization and the heart of Catholicism. Dinner at local Ristorante.  (BD)
 

Day 07 Friday October 06
Morning transfer with your private motor coach for extended guided city tour featuring Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum (no inside visit), Piazza Navona, St. Peters Basilica with Michelangelo's Pieta. Admire the Throne of St. Peter in Glory by Bernini and the Roman Forum and Palatino, the political, economic and religious center of ancient Rome. Afternoon free for individual activities and shopping. Dinner on your own. (B)

Day 08 Saturday October 07
07:30 AM Morning departure to visit the Vatican Museum at 08:30 AM, a group of impressive edifices with hundreds of rooms, halls, galleries, libraries and chapels overflowing with art treasures; the most beautiful of which is the overwhelming Sistine Chapel - seat of the Conclave for the election of the Pope and Michelangelo's masterpiece. Afterwards visit St. Peter's Basilica. Remainder of the day at leisure for individual activities. Farewell dinner at local ristorante. (BD)

Day  09 Sunday, October 08
Morning transfer to Rome airport for your flight back home! Arrivederci Italy!!   B
