King’s Faculty Member Reynolds Receives National Recognition from American Academy of Physician Assistants

September 27, 2021 – Bill Reynolds, MSPAS, PA-C, Clinical Director and Clinical Professor of Physician Assistant Studies at King’s College has been honored with a Resolution of Commendation from the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).  David I. Jackson, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, presented Mr. Reynolds with the resolution on behalf of the AAPA this summer at a small ceremony held in the Richard Abbas Alley Center for Health Sciences.  In addition, the past five Speakers of the House of Delegates and Vice -Presidents of the AAPA virtually presented this honor at its May 2021 meeting, highlighting Mr. Reynolds’ accomplishments in clinical practice, education, and leadership.

King's College Selected to Receive the IIE American Passport Project Grant in Support of 1,000 U.S. Students Obtaining Passport & Studying Abroad

September 24, 2021 – King’s College has been selected by the Institute of International Education (IIE) to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable 25 King’s College students to obtain a U.S. passport and support their study abroad journeys. In this inaugural year of the initiative, IIE announced 40 selected institutions that, overall, will aid 1,000 U.S. students to procure their U.S. passports and to provide study abroad guidance.

2021 King’s College Alumni Award Winners Celebrated in Virtual Ceremony

September 20, 2021 – On Tuesday, August 31, 2020, King’s College President Rev. Thomas P. Looney, C.S.C., Ph.D. conferred Alumni Awards upon five distinguished alumni who have demonstrated remarkable contributions to their professional fields, to the communities in which they live, and to King’s College. Members of the faculty, staff, administration, and alumni assisted the president in the selection process from among nominees submitted by alumni and friends of the College. Alumni Awards are typically presented annually during the College’s Commencement Weekend. Due to the global pandemic, the 2021 Alumni Awards ceremony was held in a via Zoom.

King’s College Student Teachers Receive Assignments at Local Schools

August 31, 2021 – This fall, eight teacher candidates have received their student teacher assignments at schools in the local area. Student teachers will complete a 15-week placement that will lead to their certification in their area and grade level. Three of the student teachers will be working toward dual certification in their grade level and special education.

King’s College Awarded $300,000 Grant Through AllOne Foundation

Funding for Initiatives to Combat Food Insecurity and Opioid Use Disorder



August 31, 2021 – King’s College is honored to have been awarded a three-year, $300,000 grant award from the AllOne Foundation to establish a Community Health Impact Program, which will specifically address two of the Foundation’s impact areas: food security and opioid solutions. This two-pronged program at King’s consists of the King's College Food Dignity® Project and the King’s College Opioid Use Disorder Destigmatization Initiative.
