*Golf Shamble and Awards

The format of this Open is a Shamble – here is how it works: Each team member hits a tee shot on each hole. Then, the team selects the best tee shot and plays as individuals from there on that hole. The lowest score between partners on that hole counts. Maximum score on a hole: double bogey (2 more than par).

Yardstick gimme: If you hit a shot within one yard stick of the hole location, the next putt is good; you don’t need to putt it!

Coal Leo Trophy

The Champions: The championship team will receive one of the most coveted prizes in the King’s College atmosphere, the Coal Leo trophy, commemorating the champions. Ties for first will be broken with extra holes if needed. Ties for second will be settled by a closest to the pin on #9. Mini-Leos awarded to the Runner Up team.

Par 3’s: There are five Par 3’s at Valley Country Club, and each will have it’s own unique challenge for prizes.  Specifically, on numbers 5 and 12 you must hit over water. The three closest-to-the-pin on these holes will go into a shootout on Hole 9 to determine the champion of closest-to-the-pin and secure a mini-Leo trophy. The other Par 3’s will feature other opportunities to win King’s swag, cold hard cash, and other prizes.

Long Drive: A custom King’s College Leo the Lion driver headcover for the longest drive in the fairway on Hole 8.
