SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2022
10:30 a.m. - 12:00PM at Chapel of Christ the King

While there is so much to do with your student during Friends and Family Weekend, the King’s College Alumni Office hopes you will join us at a light reception immediately following Mass on Sunday, October 23. Enjoy coffee, juice, and a selection of freshly baked Danish and muffins while mingling with other Monarch parents and their students. If you are interested, we would also love to take you on a guided tour of the New Chapel of Christ the King at the George and Giovita Maffei Family Commons.

Alumni Book Club: The Poisonwood Bible

Tuesday, November 15, 2022
7:00 PM (ET) Online via Zoom

Join Monarchs everywhere in reading Barbara Kingsolver’s “The Poisonwood Bible” and sign up to discuss the book with us and with King’s Professor of English, Dr. Laurie Sterling. Published in 1998, you may have already read it or wanted to – now is your chance to revisit this ambitious and controversial novel with friends in a friendly, fun, online space. Summary: In 1959 an overzealous Baptist minister named Nathan Price drags his family deep into the heart of the Congo on a mission to save the souls of Africa. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it—from garden seeds to Scripture—is calamitously transformed on African soil.
